Golder Games (WAR FIELD)

WAR FIELD would not be where it is today were it not for a distinguished board of advisors. That board includes such industry veterans as Adalberto Bruno (Electronic Arts), James Dillon (EA Mobile, Sony PlayStation, Square Enix-Mobile, Orange France Telecom), Tom Frisina (Bally Technologies, Electronic Arts, Imagination Park Entertainment, thatgamecompany), Dylan Sharkey (LinkedIn), Scott Shirley (professional gamer: HALO and Call of Duty), and Benjamin Tershana (Electronic Arts, IGN, GameSpy). They are providing valuable advice on how to develop WAR FIELD and take it big.

To introduce you to them, we present the first in a series of interviews.

Today’s interview is with Adalberto Bruno. He is a mobile platforms and digital ecosystems expert, a gaming industry veteran, and a VR/AR pioneer. CTO of various technology companies, he was also technical director with Electronic Arts for eight years, working on multiple successful mobile games.

What got you most interested in WAR FIELD? What aspect of it appeals to you the most?

WAR FIELD aims to combine a new kind of blockchain-driven game economics platform with a fully playable “first-person shooter”. Cryptocurrency and blockchain have been around for some time now and exploring this disruptive technology for online video game monetisation might frankly be revolutionary for the industry. I find this extremely appealing.

How do you think your know-how and experience add value to WAR FIELD and the development of the GOLDER (GLDR) economy and platform?

Firstly, I’m an avid gamer. In terms of work, I started my career in 2000, initially working on 3D graphics engines for the VR/AR and Visual Simulation fields, then specifically for the video-gaming industry since 2006, with a special focus on mobile. Since then, I have been involved continuously in many emerging technologies and innovative projects, and exposed to complex game system architectures and platforms.

What do you think is the future of cryptocurrency in gaming?

WAR FIELD’s GLDR based economic platform leverages tradeable ERC20-based cryptocurrency. I believe that the adoption of this kind of platform for in-game purchases, winnings, etc. on top of the possibility to earn, exchange, withdraw, save, or sell GOLDER via the Ethereum network can be potentially a game changer.

First-person shooters (FPS) are the most popular genre of video games. Do you see this changing, and, if so, what might be the next hot thing?

In my opinion, the success of shooters in general comes from their ability to combine multiple unique and engaging elements: player skills, usage of tactics and strategies, multiplayer modes, etc. — all factors key to this kind of digital entertainment experience.

Looking at recent trends, online multiplayer “battle royale” games like Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds have been able to attract the attention of entire communities and influencers. I think these kinds of games are here to stay.

If you had to describe WAR FIELD’s value proposition, how would you put it?

WAR FIELD combines a blockchain-driven game economics platform with an engaging FPS game. Players can use their GOLDER cryptocurrency to play and challenge other players. Earned GOLDER can be withdrawn, saved, exchanged, or sold via the Ethereum network so tokens bought with real money are essentially never really wasted.

What are your predictions for WAR FIELD?

The WAR FIELD proposition is very powerful and ambitious. The success of the initiative depends on many factors. On the platform side, scalability, security, and solidity are key to ensuring its organic adoption. On the game front: additional quality content, performance, and the constant support of a live ops team along with their ability to build an engaged community are crucial.
