The Easiest Way to Make Money Playing Video Games? It’s Not What You’d Expect
Want to make money playing video games? It’s a dream of many-a-gamer.
A multi-billion-dollar industry means plenty of money changing hands. And we’ve all heard the stories: the world’s highest paid gamer — Sahil Arora (a.k.a., UNiVeRsE) — amassed nearly $2m playing Dota 2 in 39 tournaments, according to Trendrr’s list of the world’s richest gamers.
Tournaments are one way, but not an easy way…even if you’re really, really good. What are the other options?
A simple online search of articles about how to monetize gameplay returns various suggestions:
- live-stream your play (on platforms like Twitch or YouTube Gaming) so others can watch, enjoy, and learn
- post reviews or how-to guides
- become a tester or a video game journalist…
Yet none of these is as easy as it sounds, as MakeUseOf.com’s Joel Lee explains:
“Many who go this route give up within a few years because the work aspect vastly outweighs the fun. Instead of doing what they love, they end up hating what they once loved. It’s also quite risky. For every make-money-playing-games success story, there are hundreds of others who tried and failed.”
YouTuber Hank Green concurs.
“Gaming content is exactly what YouTube wants (the videos are long, the audiences are engaged, and thus people stay on the site.) So YouTube does their best to build the gaming community, but monetising it is a different story,” Green notes. “There is so much popular gaming content on YouTube that for much of the year, the inventory far outstrips advertiser demands.”
And testing, notes Lee, is boring and not very well-paid work.
So what are the options for the casual gamer who is looking for an easy way to monetise his or her gameplay? There haven’t been many…until WAR FIELD.
WAR FIELD brings you an exciting, action-packed first-person shooter game with a blockchain-driven game economy that will let you earn, withdraw, and exchange cryptocurrency just like you can exchange bitcoin and ether.
Players use WAR FIELD’s GOLDER (GLDR) ERC20-compatible tokens to stake on their character’s “life”. GLDR are available exclusively at warfield.com during the company’s Token Sale ( starts June 28). You can also get hundreds of them FREE by AIRDROP right now.
How’s it work? Simply put: winners get GLDR from losers.
Unlike big tournaments, you don’t need to be an expert player to enjoy WAR FIELD and win crypto. You just need to be slightly better than your opponents. The system matches players based on ability, and there are practice Battlegrounds where players can learn the basics, giving everyone a fair shot at WAR FIELD lucre.
During the Token Sale, WAR FIELD is offering some amazing discounts (up to 60% OFF, initially) on GLDR. The discounts will decrease as the sale progresses, with the goal of making 100 GLDR worth no less than 1 US Dollar by the end of the sale. Once the sale ends, GLDR will be unlocked and fully tradeable. They can be withdrawn from the game into an ERC20 wallet at any time with no maximum limits and sold freely on cryptocurrency exchanges to other players.
“Our aim is no less than to create a global blockchain-driven gaming economy that lets video game players fully monetise their skills,” says CEO Andrius Mironovskis. “And what could be better than getting paid to play video games? It’s been a gamer’s dream for so long. Here at WAR FIELD, we are making it a reality for everyone, whether expert or casual player, thanks to blockchain technology and a great online game.”
WAR FIELD ALPHA is already open for gameplay and a GLDR Token Pre-Sale is in progress as well as AIRDROPS that give you free tokens to try it. Join the list for special deals and offers, including huge discounts and an additional Secret Agent Bounty Program that gives participants even more FREE GLDR.
